Getting Rich from the Next Generation

I was in my home office the other day researching stocks when
my cell phone buzzed. It was my daughter, Alexandra, text messaging
me about what we were planning for dinner that evening.
I sent a message back answering her question, checking how her
day was at school and asking her a few other questions.

We sent text messages back and forth for a few minutes, and
right after I thought we were done, you’ll never guess who walked
into my office. Okay, maybe you will. It was Alexandra!

“I thought you were staying after school!” I exclaimed.

“No, Dad, I came home to change to go work out.”

“Where were you when we were texting?” I asked.

“Downstairs in my room.”

She was basically 90 feet away the whole time! Once I got past
my disbelief, I couldn’t help but marvel at how much technology
has changed our lives. When I was growing up (which wasn’t all
that long ago!), no one even imagined a phone without a cord,
much less being able to send messages on them, watch video,
schedule appointments, check email, play games, and everything
else smart phones can do these days.

The same is true in every area of technology. Heck, I can still
picture my grandmother lecturing me 35 years ago about how
lucky I was to have color television! How I would love to see her
reaction to the world we live in today.

I wasn’t finished with my daughter. “Alexandra, we have to talk
when we’re at home. We cannot text from one room to another!
It’s not normal. You kids have to be able to speak to each other
versus this constant texting in short-hand.”

Alexandra simply laughed and said, “Dad, you know we talk
face-to-face everyday, right?” I nodded my head. “I just wanted to
rile you up so I could be mentioned in the GameChangers issue.”

She had me there! Don’t you hate it when you’re outsmarted by
your kids?

But if you think about it, that’s what’s supposed to happen. At
some point, the next generation passes the previous generation. (My
daughter may not be there quite yet, but she’s getting there fast!) It’s
true in life, it’s true in technology, and it’s true in business.

Next-generation companies don’t just change lives through
their products and services. They can also build true wealth for
investors. I’ve seen it time and time again in my 30 years of investing,
and now my goal is to help you build life-changing wealth by
investing in these GameChangers. As we said earlier, we’re off to
a great start, but the second half of the year looks very promising
and the best is yet to come! I look forward to sharing it with you.

Sincerely,
